The **Group Two Exam**, titled **Manual Gaseous Pollutants Source Sampling Methods**, was first made available in March 2004 and received its latest update in 2021. ### Included Test Methods The exam tests knowledge of technical requirements and specifications for the following U.S. EPA Methods: * **Fundamental Gas/Flow Methods:** Methods 1, 2, 3, 4, and 3B. * **Gaseous Pollutant Methods:** Methods 6, 6A, 6B, 7, 7C, 7D, 8, 11, 13A, 13B, 15A, 16A, 26, and 26A. * **Additional Methods:** Method 19 and Method 202. ### Regulatory and Guideline Coverage In addition to specific test methods, the exam covers: * **40 CFR part 60.8(f)** and **40 CFR part 63.7(e)(3)**. * The **SES Exam Guideline**. * Regulatory definitions, the basic structure of compliance tests, and requirements for test plan preparation. ### General Source Testing Principles As with all six method group exams, Group 2 includes questions on broader technical and implementation principles, such as: * **Sampling and Handling:** Sample transport, proportional sampling, and representative sampling. * **Calculations:** Completing and verifying emissions calculations, including corrections for standard conditions, excess air, moisture, and dilution. * **Field and Lab Operations:** General industrial process characteristics, communication between field testers and laboratories, and assessing data for process optimization. * **Reporting:** Preparing effective compliance test reports and understanding basic reporting requirements.
